Mrs. Ortega is a 1984 graduate of Edinburg High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Texas-Pan American (now UT-RGV) with a BA in Accounting. Mrs. Ortega was appointed as a Director of the Bank in November 2017 and is a member of all board committees.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Museum of South Texas History in Edinburg and has served on the Board of Directors of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School as Secretary. She is actively involved in several other non-profit organizations of the surrounding communities, including the Texas Citrus Fiesta in Mission and the Hidalgo County Cotillion Advisory Board where she has served since 2008 and is currently Vice-President. Mrs. Ortega is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hargill, Texas.
